Cuba is located in the north part of the Caribbean Sea, at the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico and just south of the U.S. state of Florida. As such, Cuba has a tropical climate that is not unlike most of the other islands in the Caribbean. Cuba’s weather is warm all year round, with average high temperatures varying somewhere between 21°C in January and 30°C in July, at the height of summer. Because Cuba’s weather is tropical, the climate tends to be very humid and sunny for most of the year. The period from November to April or May is considered the dry season here, and as such, it is also the most popular time of year to travel to Cuba. Oppositely, Cuba’s weather turns to a monsoon season from May through October, and it is during this time that the island is frequently hammered by hurricanes, which are especially imminent in the autumn months of September and October.
